Firmager’s Flying Circus Takes First Prize at New Romney Country Fayre

The team from Firmager Funeral Service proudly took part in the New Romney Country Fayre, and what a day it was! Organised by the ever-inventive Helen Carr, this year’s theme was “Circus,” and Helen’s creative twist led us to become “Firmager’s Flying Circus”.

Trevor Clark and Colin Read built a fantastic plane that stole the show, while Heidi Caister designed eye-catching posters to bring the theme to life. Helen Carr, Nicky Stanton, Jen Bullen, Georgia Southgate, Sheila Read, Funeral Director Ashley Brocklebank, and Phil Harrison all dressed in inflatable aeroplanes, complete with goggles and pilot hats — a sight to behold!

We had “marksmen” in clown wigs and high-vis vests handing out sweets to children, and the lorry, supplied and driven by Helen’s son Harry, carried our flying circus through the crowds. The energy was electric as we sang and danced to The Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, and the smiles from the crowd said it all.

We were thrilled to win first prize for the second year running, and celebrated with a hospitality tent offering free drinks, sweets, and crisps to visitors. It was a brilliant day full of laughter, teamwork, and community spirit, and we’re proud of every single person who helped make it happen.
